THERMALLOY :
Thermodynamical solution database

Thermalloy is a general thermodynamic database for solution condensed phases which gathers the assessed coefficients of the modelled Gibbs energy.

Actually, Thermalloy contains the thermodynamic modelling of about 800 binary or quasi-binary (oxides or salts) systems, 160 ternary or quasi-ternary systems, and around 20 quaternary and quinary systems of industrial interest.

For specific industrial applications, sub-sets of Thermalloy may be constructed (steel, solder, noble alloys, light metals, superalloys, nuclear safety, ...).

The best quality of required data needs on the one hand the choice of a thermodynamic model physically realistic for the description of each phase, and on the other hand the validation of the model by taking into account all the available experimental information : thermodynamic values and phase diagrams.

The assessed Gibbs energy parameters will remain stable until new experiments will be performed. Thus, it is very important to keep the experimental information compiled in the optimisation process, in order to be able to up-date the Gibbs energy parameters when necessary, i.e. if more recent experiments are available.

This database, linked to the GEMINI2 calcutation code, allows to determine the equilibrium states in multicomponent complex chemical systems.
